About Me

So you want to know more about me?

Just kidding! MY name is Chris, I'm from Minnesota, and I'm an unabashed Christian.

    Uhhhhh...yeah. That's me!

If you want to know anything else about me, shoot me a question in the comments or send me an email at anotherbiasedfanboy@gmail.com. If I think it is worth addressing I'll answer it on this page OR make a post about it. I may even email you back.

    How did you start blogging?

I started blogging because nobody reads things I put on Facebook. I really like to write, but copy/pasting things I write on a Google Doc or in Word into the notes section of Facebook just didn't give me any satisfaction. I couldn't express myself the way I wished I could. So I Googled "How to start a blog" and a few hours later, I had...this.

Well, it looked nothing like it does now. I'm very nitpicky about how things look, so I change the layout and background all the time. But what I have now is basically what I had then. I told my friends about it, and some of them liked it. Chances are most people reading this ARE those friends. Hello, friends!

Anyway, I love to write, and this is a great way to do it. I have no grand goals with this. I just like to put my ideas out there for people to read, and hopefully, agree with. If I ever get kinda popular, I'll add ads, cause why not? Capitalism is the greatest economic model known to man. However, this never was, and never will be, a money making endeavor.

What does the Latin at the bottom of each page mean?

It translates to, "Sometimes I get this urge to conquer large parts of Europe." I feel it describes me fairly well. It reminds me that even when I'm writing about serious things (like continental warfare) I can still phrase them in such a way as to make them humorous.

I try to find humor in everything, and I write not only for myself, but for others. I try to keep whatever I write entertaining. Thus, Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum Europae vincendarum.

Soon...

    Why is your email "Anotherbiasedfanboy"?

I am a huge fan of video games. For those of you who aren't so knowledgeable about video game things, there is this rivalry between fans of Call of Duty and fans of Halo. I was on this video game news website (yes, that's a thing) reading an article about Halo: Reach, which was coming out in a few months. They were all Halo fanboys, talking about how Halo was the best game and how much better it was than Call of Duty.

Well, I'm somewhat of a freak in the sense that I love both game franchises, because they each have strengths and weaknesses, and are both incredibly fun in their own ways. So, I made an account with the screen-name "AnotherBiasedFanboy" (in the hopes someone would see the irony) and I made a long, rambling rant about how Call of Duty was the best video game series ever made, and how Halo was a rip off of COD, and blah, blah, blah...

Next thing you know, my comment was marked as spam because of it's massive amount of downvotes. That was a valuable lesson for me: Know your audience. More than likely, everyone commenting on there was much younger than me, a stereotypical 12 year old fanboy. At least, that's what I tell myself. In all truthfulness, the average gamer is about 30 years old, has a stable income, and knows how to spell. These guys weren't writing like idiotic tweens. They were just bad at interpreting sarcasm.

That led me to learn another lesson: Sarcasm doesn't translate well into text. Always remember that. Yet somehow, I immediately forgot and made it my email. Oh well. I have others that I use for other things that I will not make public.

Do you claim credit for any of the art on your page?

Good heavens, no! I am not an artist or a photographer. I use Google searches to find all my pictures, and I credit the place where I found the pictures. If you think I'm using your artwork, you can ask me to take it down. However, you should know that wherever the link says I got the picture is where I really did get it from, and you should probably take it up with them.

Stay frosty.
